I've done five keynote speeches in a workshop last month alone, and the amount of growth that I've had both personally and professionally, and how much better I'm getting at my talks is incredible. You just have to dig in, do what scares you, and be relentless in the pursuit of your successes, your goals. And your dreams. Welcome to FASCINATING ENTREPRENEURS. How do people end up becoming an entrepreneur? How do they scale and grow their businesses? How do they plan for profit? Are they in it for life? Are they building to exit these in a myriad of other topics? Will be discussed to pull back the veil on the wizardry of successful and fascinating entrepreneurs. My book, RELENTLESS is now available everywhere books can be bought online, including Amazon and BarnesandNoble.com, try your local indie bookstore too. And if they don't have it, they can order it. Just ask them. The reviews are streaming in and I'm so thankful for the positive feedback as well as hearing from people that my memoir has impacted them positively. It is not enough to be resilient. You have to be relentless. You can go to the relentless book.com for more information. Thank you so much. This week on FASCINATING ENTREPRENEURS. I wanna talk about the value of public speaking. Public speaking has become such an important asset to the entrepreneur, thought leader in industry, Titans tool Belt. There are a lot of fears that are associated with public speaking, and one of them is Glossophobia, which is not the fear of lip gloss. It is the fear of speaking in public and 75% or even more people have this fear. Some people feel like they're going to die. I totally understand that, but I want to impress upon you how important it is to get over that fear. Value of public speaking. There are so many things that come into play here, but number one, self-discovery. You can understand your personal delivery style and refine your products and services and knowledge as you give talk over talk, over talk. It also is a great way to build your brand and the opportunity to showcase your brand and all of its offerings. Of course. It generates leads. The people that really resonate with you are going to be the most likely to engage with you for your services or your products. You can transform the audience into potential customers. One of the ways to overcome the fear of public speaking beside, by the way, just do it repeatedly, even if it's a mess at first. The more you do it, the better you'll get at it. Before you start though, having adequate preparation is really important. You can also visualize the techniques of great speakers and watch them and rate them and figure out what people are doing that really moves you and think about what they're doing that doesn't really grab your attention and might annoy you. You can also do mindfulness and stress reduction exercises. I suggest working with a great speaker coach. I've had a few in my lifetime, but I've also been a performance artist all of my life, playing the violin and singing, so I have a little bit of a leg up, but you can catch up and you might be great at it, even if you're not a performer. One of the things that's amazing about. Talking about your service or your product over and over and over again on podcasts, on stages, on interviews, is that you can condense your ideas and your thoughts down to what's called a Media Bite. A Media Bite is so important, especially when you're being interviewed on national television. It's getting your thoughts into a short and punchy consumable, snackable delivery to be very on target and no fluff around it. Make it memorable and repeatable and tie it to your brand and offerings. But I do suggest in public speaking that you don't do so just to sell. You really have to educate, inform and sometimes entertain your guests. There is a balance between these things, the valuable content and the call to action is the most important element of any keynote speech. Figure out the one takeaway that you want those people to have an up to three steps that they can do in short term to get that outcome. That is going to transform and do wonders to any of your talks. You need to be engaged and maintain audience interest. You don't have to be different than who you are. If you are a laid back person, stay laid back, you might want to increase your energy level about 20% just because it comes off a little differently from the stage. But you don't have to put on a big act. You can really talk to one person, even though you're talking to a group of up to hundreds or thousands of people. Entertainment and humor can really help solidify your brand message, make it more memorable, and have people really trust you. The more authentic that you are, the more connected and engaged they will be. You can convert listeners into clients with those call to action strategies and creating a sense of urgency. Again, something that they can do in the very short term to get a win. And providing value behind or beyond the product or the service in the way that you educate or entertain them is really important. Delivering the information is one thing. Getting them to actually act on it is another. Having them laugh or even cry is yet another imprint that you can make on them. Five key points. Number one, overcome your fear of public speaking for both personal and business growth. Number two, craft a compelling, succinct message that resonates with your audience. Number three, develop memorable media bys tied to your brand and your offerings. Number four. Balance the education informing and entertainment. Of your audience to engage them and less but not least, implement strategies to transform your audience into customers. It may not happen the moment you step off the stage. These things can be a long game. You want a couple of people to really attach to right away. But you want the rest of them to keep you in mind for the future when they get to the place in their life where they need your business, your service, or products. Again, I think public speaking is incredibly important. If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, thought leader, or if you're an industry titan, I really encourage you to take steps toward mastering public speaking, and if you have any questions about what you might be able to do to better yourself in that department, please let me know.
